Job #: 078500 Position OverviewThe Laboratory for Multiscale Biosystem Engineering, led by Dr. Yi Zheng in the Department of Biomedical and Chemical Engineering and the Bioinspired Institute at Syracuse University, seeks a Postdoctoral Researcher to conduct research on human stem cell-derived organoids/embryoids. Dr. Zheng’s research has been featured in Nature, Nature Materials, Cell Stem Cell, Science Advances, Nature Communications, and Nature Protocols. His work has been recognized internationally and highlighted in outlets such as Nature, NPR, MIT Technology Review, BBC News, and Chemical & Engineering News. The successful candidate will work with human pluripotent stem cells and apply cutting-edge engineering approaches, including microfluidics/Lab-on-a-Chip, biomaterials, and 3D printing, to generate 3D organoids and embryoids with high precision and reproducibility. These models will be used to explore fundamental mechanisms of human development and morphogenesis, as well as the effects of environmental factors and lifestyle choices on these processes. The initial appointment is for one year, with the potential for renewal based on performance and available funding. Qualifications
