The Department of Environmental Science (ACES) is one of the largest departments at the Faculty of Science, with more than 180 researchers, teachers, doctoral students and technical/administrative staff from over 30 countries. Research and teaching focuses on chemical contaminants, (eco)toxicology, atmospheric science, and biogeochemistry. SciLifeLab houses national research infrastructures and has a mission to provide cutting-edge and enabling molecular technologies to the Swedish research community. The National Facility for Exposomics is the first SciLifeLab infrastructure unit hosted by ACES, and specifically provides a national research service in the comprehensive analysis of contaminants and small molecules in human and environmental samples by target and nontarget mass spectrometry, also called chemical exposomics.
