About the RoleRMIT University is seeking a Senior Lecturer in Aerospace Engineering to join the Department of Aerospace Engineering within the School of Engineering. This position presents an opportunity for a research-active scholar with demonstrated teaching leadership to contribute to the growth of one of Australia’s leading aerospace programs. The successful candidate will contribute to high-quality teaching, impactful research, and strong industry engagement across the Department’s undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The role will suit an academic who is already developing a national research profile and a collaborative research program aligned with emerging aerospace technologies and systems. You will lead and contribute to innovative teaching, curriculum development and program delivery, while also strengthening the Department’s research capacity through externally funded research, high-quality publications, and supervision of higher-degree-by-research (HDR) candidates. RMIT is particularly interested in candidates with research expertise in one or more of the following areas:

The Department also maintains strong links with RMIT’s Aviation Academy, providing opportunities to undertake research connected to aircraft operations and aviation systems. Researchers can also leverage RMIT’s advanced digital infrastructure, including the VxLab at the City campus, home to the Centre for Digital Innovation and advanced simulation capabilities such as the Eight360 NOVA Untethered Motion Simulator, enabling immersive simulation of complex vehicle environments including aircraft and spacecraft.
