Teaching-Track Assistant Professor/Director of MAE Laboratories

The Wallace H. Coulter School of Engineering at Clarkson University invites applicants to apply for the position of Director of Laboratories.

The Laboratory Director will be appointed as a teaching-track Assistant Professor in the Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering department with a pathway to promotion to full professor on the teaching-track.

The primary responsibility of the chosen candidate is to teach and conduct undergraduate laboratory classes that support the Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering programs. It is also expected that that the candidate will also contribute to departmental research activities. Responsibilities will include hiring and supervising student workers, purchasing and managing laboratory inventory, and maintaining and upgrading laboratory equipment. The candidate will also maintain and manage shared departmental laboratory facilities, including wind tunnels and mechanical testing machines.

Minimum qualifications include a PhD degree in mechanical or aeronautical engineering or equivalent. Practical experience with hardware and data acquisition and analysis software is expected. The applicant is expected to be proficient at teaching and interacting with a large number of students and be actively involved in all departmental activities.

Experience with Wind Tunnels and Mechanical Testing Machines in addition to the minimum qualifications
