Wiss. Employee (m / w / d) with focus on particle synthesis and functionalization

21.02.2019,  Scientific staff

The Chair of Process Systems Engineering of the Technical University of Munich (location Wissenschaftszentrum Weihenstephan, Freising) is looking for a research assistant (m / w / d) with the focus on particle synthesis and functionalization.

Suitable applicants have good communication skills and great interest in the synthesis, functionalization and characterization of nanoparticles. An above-average university degree in the subjects of process engineering / chemical engineering, materials science, chemistry, food technology or related fields is mandatory. Previous knowledge in the field of particle technology is an advantage.

Nanocellulose and especially cellulose nanocrystals are already suitable in low concentrations for use in biopolymers because of their physical and chemical properties. Cellulose nanocrystals have great potential in the development of bio-based packaging materials through their extraction from renewable resources. For targeted application, the chemical surface functionalization in combination with low-aggregation drying is to be investigated and improved in order to obtain particles in a broad application window. The focus is on the application and processing properties, for which a better understanding of the relationships between processing processes, particle structure and properties should be developed.

We offer

The position is to be filled from the beginning of 2019 and is temporary; an extension is possible. The position is suitable both for a doctorate and for a PostDoc phase. We offer you a diversified, scientifically shaped workplace with individual responsibility and creative freedom. The payment is made according to qualification to TV-L. Severely handicapped applicants are preferably recruited with otherwise substantially equal qualifications. The TUM aims to increase the proportion of women, and applications from women are therefore expressly welcomed.

We look forward to your informative documents. Please send them by e-mail to svt-jobs@wzw.tum.de. For further questions please contact:
